HIFU may also not be appropriate in certain circumstances, including some medical conditions, active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area, pregnancy, or the presence of certain implanted devices or materials. We will advise whether treatment should be postponed, modified or avoided.

Significant facial volume loss, advanced skin laxity or extensive sun damage may require a different treatment approach. In these situations, we may recommend treatments focused more heavily on skin quality and collagen support, such as skin needling or Mesoskinline treatments.

Sometimes combining treatments may provide a more suitable plan. Other times, we may recommend that HIFU is not the best use of your money.

How Many HIFU Treatments Will I Need?

There is no single treatment schedule that suits everyone.

The number and frequency of HIFU treatments may depend on:

• your age
• skin quality
• degree of laxity
• treatment area
• your desired outcome
• your response to previous treatment
• whether you are combining HIFU with other treatments

Some clients may be suitable for one comprehensive treatment followed by a review. Others may benefit from a staged treatment plan. Additional treatment is not automatically better, and we will consider whether further treatment is appropriate before recommending it.

Rather than recommending the same package to everyone, we assess your face, discuss your concerns and suggest the approach we believe is most appropriate.

When Will I See My HIFU Results?

HIFU results develop progressively.

Because the treatment supports a biological response within your own tissue, changes may continue to develop over the following weeks and months. Some clients notice little visible change, while others may see a more noticeable improvement in firmness or definition.

We may take photographs to help track your progress. This can make it easier to assess gradual changes rather than judging your result immediately after treatment.

Results are not permanent. The duration of any improvement varies and is influenced by factors such as ageing, sun exposure, lifestyle, skin quality and individual biology.

Is There Downtime After HIFU?

One of the reasons clients choose HIFU in Emerald is that there is generally minimal downtime compared with surgery.

After treatment, you may experience temporary:

• tenderness
• sensitivity
• mild swelling
• tingling or altered sensation
